With your help, we can teach them how.

It's true.  One in seven adults cannot read a newspaper, an employment application, or a bedtime story.  There is no single reason, no one cause on which to place blame.  The adult non-reader has many attributes, but does need help to take the first step toward reaching his or her potential.

Literacy Volunteers tutors are trained to provide student-centered tutoring services. Each tutor works with his or her learner to identify both short and long term goals and creates individualized lesson plans that focus on meeting those goals.    read more ...
